About Ty

Ty Graynor, originally from Huntington, New York, received his BFA in Dance Performance from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford. There, he studied under renowned artists Nina Watt, Miki Orihara, Stephen Pier, and Doug Varone, and performed several classic works by historical artists such as Martha Graham, José Limón, and Doris Humphrey.


After completing his studies, Ty advanced his training at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance and joined Graham 2 as a Company Dancer. In 2019, he joined the Limón Dance Company as a performing and teaching artist.


Currently based in Austin, Texas, Ty continues to enrich the dance community through regular classes in the Limón technique, contemporary dance forms, improvisation, and somatic expression. Within the fitness community he specializes in full-body strength and conditioning with emphasis on alignment.


Currently, he is choreographing and producing "From Inferno to Americana," an evening-length dance concert featuring two debut pieces, collaboratively crafted with an new ensemble of Austin's dance artists. The performance is set to premiere in November of 2023.
